Turban Shell Operculum. Known as the Eye of Shiva. Organic, Modern. The "Door Cover" of a Salt Water Snail. 

Shiva eye shells are the protective covering of a marine snail called Turbinella pyrum, found mostly in shallow tropical waters of Southeast Asia.

They occur from the Equator up into Arctic. These are probably from Marin County, CA. USA

The "Shiva Eye Shell" is named for its resemblance to the third eye of the Hindu deity Shiva.

It is believed to represent protection, intuition, and spiritual awakening. It is often associated with the third eye chakra. Because the shell comes from the sea, it has ocean-like soothing, comforting and serene vibes.
